As part of Module 5.2, students of the Master’s program “International Social Work with Refugees and Migrants” participated in the Germany 2025 Summer School. The program took us to Nuremberg, Munich, and Berlin, where we explored different approaches to social work with refugees and migrants in the German context.

We visited grassroots organizations, counseling centers, and advocacy initiatives working on issues such as trauma and mental health, queer and intersectional support, anti-racist practice, asylum processes, and labor rights. Through field visits, discussions, and reflections, students engaged critically with the complexities of social work in migration contexts.

The Summer School offered valuable insights into how solidarity, inclusion, and empowerment can be practiced: locally, transnationally, and with a lasting impact.
