Welcome
Welcome to the THWS and to our Master’s program “International Social Work with Refugees and Migrants (MRM)”!
To facilitate a fresh start into your new study program, we would like to invite you to this year’s MRM Welcome Week from 18 to 21 March 2024.
The MRM Welcome Week will take place in hybrid format (in presence and online) and will deal with a wide variety of subjects, including an introduction to the study structure, contents, and relevant regulations of the Master’s program, information on studying abroad, the use of digital tools and services, an introduction to the THWS Library, and many more topics that will eventually support you in finding your way around THWS and the city of Würzburg. The situation of and options for those of you arriving in Würzburg late due to visa or personal issues will be addressed extensively as well.
Moreover, you will also get the chance to get to know the MRM program director, Prof. Dr. Tanja Kleibl, the MRM program advisor, Prof. Dr. Ralf Roßkopf, as well as various other representatives and lecturers of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences (FAS).

If you were unable to arrive to Würzburg by the time of the MRM Welcome Week, you can take part in all of the events online via Zoom.
Please be aware that the last day of the MRM Welcome Week (21 March) will also be your first day of lectures. You can have a look at the MRM course schedule for the summer semester 2024 here. An overview of all study modules, their corresponding seminars, and examinations can be found in the current MRM module handbook.
Please note that the faculty is trying to coordinate having as many of the lectures online or in hybrid format, so that students that could not make it to Würzburg by the beginning of the summer semester, can follow at least a part of the courses. More detailed information on the courses of the 1st MRM study semester will be provided during the first day of the MRM Welcome Week.
