Our hosted programmes offer a unique study experience that begins at the prestigious German Jordanian University (GJU) in Jordan. In the fifth semester, you will transfer to the esteemed Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg- Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany to complete your studies. Experience the best of both worlds as you benefit from a cutting-edge binational higher education, immerse yourself in an enriching intercultural environment, and engage in 28 weeks of meaningful hands-on internships in Jordan and Germany. Gain a sophisticated command of the German language and become trilingual. Receive professional training in a supportive setting and prove yourself as an expert in two prominent regions of the world. These hosted programmes are primarily tailored for prospective students from Jordan and the broader Arab region. You will receive guidance from both Jordanian and German faculty, and forge lifelong friendships with German and international students from the very beginning of your studies.

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Hydrogen Technology) or Bachelor of Arts (Social Work)

Type of programme: full-time

Study location: Würzburg (BSAT) / Schweinfurt (BWTT), Germany, and Amman, Jordan

Start of programme: October 1st each year

Application period: May 1st - June 15th

Standard period of study: 7 semesters

 

 

ECTS credits: 210

Teaching language: German, English (for practical training in Jordan: Arabic recommended)

Admission: German higher education entrance qualification, advanced technical college entrance certificate, or studies in the pre-year at GJU (will be fully credited for BSAT and partially credited for BWTT) as well as German language skills (B1 at the start of the programme, B2 before the 5th semester) and an English certificate of at least B2 (TOEFL: minimum 72). For those who do not have the English certificate at the time of enrolment for the pre-year, GJU offers a placement test. They will be admitted as pre-year students if they can demonstrate English proficiency at B2 level or a level that can be raised to B2 through a single regular GJU English course.

German Jordanian University (GJU)

Established in 2005 by a Royal Decree, the German Jordanian University (GJU) stands as a prominent public institution located near Amman. This prestigious university is the result of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Drawing inspiration from the esteemed German applied-sciences model, GJU emphasizes the practical application of knowledge and the promotion of knowledge transfer. It strives to strengthen the ties between Jordan and Europe, particularly Germany, playing a vital role in fostering collaboration and exchange. At GJU, all Bachelor students undergo a comprehensive German language programme and spend a year in Germany, consisting of one study semester and one internship semester.
GJU places a strong emphasis on delivering undergraduate and graduate programmes of the highest quality. With a diverse offering of over 30 programmes, the university welcomes a student body of approximately 5,000 individuals, predominantly from Jordan, while also attracting international students.
