Internship

The practical training comprises a total of 22 weeks with five working days each in full-time. The internship is an integral part of the studies. In order to achieve a close integration of theory and practice, supervision and internship reflection take place concurrently. In this exercise, the students reflect, deepen and complete the implementation of the learned methods in the respective field of action.

The students should be enabled to apply the competences acquired so far in their studies in their respective fields of work, as well as to integrate the knowledge gained and professional ethical attitudes into their professional actions.

The students select a professional field from the numerous fields of social work as an example in which
the internship is completed. These include in particular:

  • Social work in companies
  • Development and support in early childhood
  • Help for people at risk and resocialisation
  • Health care
  • Help for women
  • Youth and adult education
  • Child, youth and family welfare
  • Music therapy in social work
  • Youth and school social work
  • Social work in the migration society
  • Social work in an ageing society
  • Social work with mentally ill and addicted people
  • Social work and disability
  • Social management
