at the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS), Faculty of Applied Social Sciences! 

 

Our University

With more than 9000 students the FHWS is one of the largest Universities of Applied Sciences in Bavaria. We are proud to offer more than 40 degree programs in a wide range of subjects. Three bachelor and five master degrees are conducted by the Faculty of Social Sciences. Size, diversity and multidisciplinarity allow an education that captures the broadness of a discipline and provides differentiation and specification. We focus on evidence-based and at the same time practice-oriented teaching.

The City of Würzburg

Würzburg can look back on a long tradition as a student city. Thus, plenty cafes, bars and clubs as well as theater groups, churches and sport programmes offer many attractions to more than 35.000 students. Surrounded by vineyards, parks and a river, Würzburg provides ideal oppurtunities to relax, have a picnic or study outside. Students love to linger around the riverside of the Main, stroll through the numerous gardens and parks, relax at the city beach and hike across the vineyards. However, wonderful historic buildings like the residence or the fortress Marienberg indicate the long tradition and history of Würzburg. Additionally, Würzburg offers a variety of cultural events such as concerts, theaters and poetry slams as well as music and cultural festivals where every taste can find compliancy.

 

30 ECTS English taught courses

Each semester, the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences offers at least 30 ECTS of english taught classes, including

  • Basic strategies of behavior modification I & II
  • Self-Modification
  • Interactive Theatre
  • Introduction to the German Legal System
  • Collaborative Online International Learning Courses of “Social Work VirCamp”, e.g. “Social Work from an international perspective”
