Conference of the AG Historische Sozialpädagogik/Soziale Arbeit (Working Group on Historical Social Pedagogy/Social Work)
Conference "Continuities and discontinuities of social pedagogy/social work in the transition from National Socialism to the post-war period.
While there are now a large number of publications on the history of social work under National Socialism, this applies only to a very limited extent to the early post-war period in the FRG and GDR. This is the point at which the conference will begin and examine the immediate post-war period from different perspectives with a view to the question of breaks and continuities between 1933 and 1945 and classify it into longer-term lines of development. Plenary lectures and working groups will take place during the conference.
Conference leaders: Prof. Dr. Ralph-Christian Amthor (HS Würzburg) in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Carola Kuhlmann (Ev. HS Bochum), Prof. Dr. Birgit Bender-Junker (Ev. HS Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr. Sven Steinacker (HS Niederrhein) as well as the AG Historische Sozialpädagogik/Soziale Arbeit (Working Group on Historical Social Pedagogy/Social Work).
The conference is sponsored by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation.
