Research

The Faculty of Applied Sciences is characterized by a high degree of interdisciplinarity. Its faculty includes professors from various disciplines (including social work, sociology, psychology, law, music therapy) with different research foci. The bundling of these different competences enables an extraordinary interdisciplinary research, allows to work on questions from different disciplines in many projects, which gives the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences a unique selling point.

This is also evident in the Institute for Applied Social Sciences (IFAS), which was founded in 2019 and is affiliated to the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences as an interdisciplinary research institute. Under the umbrella structure of the IFAS, the research activities are bundled in the four Centers Health, Science Social Work, International Social Work and Digital Transformation and cross-center cooperation is made possible.
