International Social Work Acting in Crises - Attitude matters (AttiMa) 2021 - 2022

The project "International Social Work Acting in Crises - Attitude matters (AttiMa)" facilitates international and academic exchange on Social Work in crisis contexts between THWS, the Modern University for Business & Science (MUBS) in Lebanon and the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Jordan. At the heart of the project is the professional development of international social work, which has to strengthen its awareness of its interconnectednes and has to become more global in mind-set, culturally sensitive and crisis-resilient in the face of global challenges, crises, wars and disasters.

Internations Social Work from Crisis to Sustainabiity (ThRIve) 2023 -2025

The project ThRIvE (International Social Work from Crises to Sustainable Futures - Thinking from the Future, Recognizing & Interconnecting in the Past, vital & embodied Empowerment in the Present) is funded by the DAAD and supports and promotes the international and scientific exchange about international social work in crisis contexts. It is based on a collaboration between the Technical University Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany, the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) in Lebanon and the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Jordan. Until 2025, as part of the project, various in presence courses and different blended-learning mobilities are organized and carried out in the trinational cooperation that deal with the topics of international social work, crisis-resilience & sustainability in all three countries. Its aims to bring about new knowings about our interconnectedness and embody this practice. This also includes researching and documenting previously invisible knowledges from social work practice in Lebanon and making that knowledge accessible future social workers and the general public (SWorld).
